Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Asians aged 18 and above 2. Fitzpatrick Skin Type III-V 3. Diagnosed with melasma 4. Presence of melasma on both sides of the face
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals 2. facial dermatitis 3. recent hormonal or contraceptive use (within 3 months) 4. recent facial laser treatments (within 6 months) 5. recent melasma treatments (topical or oral within 3 months) 6. recent skin whitening agent use (within 1 month) 7. allergy to retinoids 8. oral antioxidant use 9. diagnosed abnormal mental conditions, and refusal to consent for photography
