Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Eligible participants were outpatients aged 50-85 years scheduled for elective colonoscopy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria included 1. American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Physical Status Class 3 or 4 2. History of inflammatory bowel disease 3. History of Colonic diverticulosis 4. Allergies to polyethylene glycol (PEG) or prucalopride 5. Congestive heart failure 6. Chronic kidney disease with volume overload 7. Morbid obesity 8. Current use of laxatives within 2 weeks prior to colonoscopy 9. Current use of opioids within 2 weeks prior to colonoscopy 10. Previous inadequate bowel preparation 11. History of bowel resection 12. History of bariatric surgery
