Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Diagnosed with stroke for at least 14 days. 2.Aged between 18-70 years. 3. Diagnosed with chronic constipation as per the ROME IV diagnostic criteria. 4. Medically stable, defined as a body temperature < 38 Celsius, blood pressure > 90/60 mmHg and < 160/100 mmHg, pulse rate < 100 beats/min, and respiratory rate < 20 breaths/min. 5.Capable of understanding and following instructions. 6.Literate or has a caregiver capable of recording data. 7.Willing to participate in the study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Abnormal levels of electrolytes, platelets, or blood coagulation (platelets < 100,000 per cubic millimeter and International Normalized Ratio (INR) > 2). 2. Currently taking anticoagulant medications. 3. History of spinal cord injury within the past 6 months. 4. Untreated spinal fracture or break within the past 6 months. 5. Diagnosed with a respiratory infection in the contagious phase or has a tuberculosis risk, such as a persistent cough for over 2 weeks, hemoptysis within the past month, unexplained weight loss, daily fever for more than a week in the past month, or excessive night sweats within the past month without prior tuberculosis screening, such as sputum collection or chest X-ray. 6. Abdominal abnormalities, including a history of abdominal cancer or metastatic cancer, bowel obstruction, abnormal abdominal mass, abdominal pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, or history of abdominal vascular abnormalities. 7. Suspected or high risk of colorectal cancer, such as unexplained anorexia, significant weight loss, alternating constipation and diarrhea, unexplained anemia, a family history of colorectal cancer, without prior screening such as fecal occult blood test or colonoscopy. 8. Underwent abdominal radiation therapy or abdominal surgery within the past year. 9. Pregnant or having a last menstrual period (LMP) more than one month ago in women of reproductive age (15-49 years) without prior Urine Pregnancy Test screening. 10. Presence of skin lesions at the massage site that are contagious or inflamed.
