Interventions

The first group received treatment using thumb spica splints crafted from latex rubber, while the second group was treated with conventional thumb spica splint. Follow up for 2 and 6 weeks

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients diagnosed with De Quervains tenosynovitis, both male and female, aged 18-65 years were selected based on their medical history and physical examination. They presented with wrist pain on the radial side, tenderness over the radial styloid process, and a positive Finkelstein test (where the patient makes a fist with the thumb inside and then bends the wrist forward, resulting in pain). Additionally, the assessment of nerves and blood vessels was normal, as evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who refused to participate in the study. 2. History of other hand-related conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis. 3. History of receiving corticosteroid injections. 4. Patients with dermatological conditions. 5. Latex products allergy
