Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society. 2. Aged between 65 and 80 years. 3. ASA class 1 to 3. 4. Undergoing elective surgery
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who need to convert from laparoscopic to open abdominal surgery. 2. Contraindications for wearing pneumatic compression stockings: 2.1 Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in the leg. 2.2 Skin rash, skin graft, or wounds on either leg. 2.3 Peripheral arterial disease. 2.4 Leg swelling or pulmonary edema due to congestive heart failure. 2.5 Deformity in either leg. 2.6 Inability to find a suitable size for the compression stockings. 3. Indications for wearing pneumatic compression stockings, such as a high risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). 4. History of poorly controlled hypertension, reduced heart contractility with an ejection fraction of less than 40%, or a history of congestive heart failure. 5. History of severe cardiac arrhythmias.
