Conditions

Moderate to severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) COPD, tDCS, resistance training

Interventions

In the resistance exercise with the sham-tDCS group, subjects will receive anodal-tDCS 2 mA stimulation for 20 minutes before exercise, but the tDCS device will power off after stimulation 30 seconds

40 Years to 85 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Post-bronchodilator of FEV1/FVC < 70% 2. Post-bronchodilator of FEV1 30-80% of predicted value 3. Age 40-85 years 4. Non-regular exercise (<3times/week and <30 min/day)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Other respiratory diseases such as asthma, bronchiectasis, pulmonary hypertension 2. Acute exacerbation within a month before starting these studies 3. Congestive heart failure, angina pectoris, and third-degree A-V block 4. The presence of orthopedic or neuromuscular conditions interfering with the ability to perform resistance exercises such as herniated disc, lumbar stenosis, and muscle weakness 5. No metallic implants near electrodes and no use of pacemaker 6. No history of neurological disorders such as stroke
