Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status 1-2 2. Age of 20 to 65 years old 3. Body mass index (BMI) less than 30 kg/m2 4. Candidates for elective laparoscopic surgery under general anesthesia with an expected duration of > 2 hr
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who refuse to provide informed consent or are participating in another interventional study 2. Severe cardiac disease defined as New York Heart Association grade III or IV 3. Previous lung surgery or history of pulmonary disease 4. Allergy to anesthetic agents 5. Emergency surgery 6. Pregnancy
