Conditions

Male or female who experiences chronic ankle instability (CAI). Chronic ankle instability, Postural control, Exercise rehabilitation, Stroboscopic vision

Interventions

The exercise protocol is modified from the previous studies (Kim et al., 2021
McKeon et al., 2008). Participants perform 3 postural tasks, including single-leg stance activities, single-leg deadlift, and single-leg hop to stabilization. Additionally, the rest period is allowed
McKeon et al., 2008). 2. The single-leg deadlift is performed to promote the coordination and muscle strength, which is crucial for maintaining postural stability. The repetitive is increased in the e

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The CAI individuals are included in the study, if they have the following criteria. 1. Age between 18 to 25 years old. 2. History of at least 1 significant ankle sprain , which leads to inflammatory symptoms and at least 1 interrupted day of physical activities; the initial sprain occurred at least 12 months and the recent sprain occurred more than 3 months. 3. History of ankle joint giving way and/or recurrent sprain and/or perceived ankle instability 4. A score less than 24 on CAIT 5. A history of physical activity at least 3 days/week for a total of 90 minutes/week in the previous 3 months

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. A history of previous surgery to the musculoskeletal structures in both limbs of lower extremity 2. A history of a fracture in both limbs of lower extremity, which require realignment 3. An acute injury to musculoskeletal structures of lower extremity that affected joint integrity and function. The injury occurred in the previous 3 months and required at least 1 interrupted day of physical activities. 4. A history of any problems that affect postural stability, e.g., neurological diseases and vestibular disorders. 5. Absence from training more than 2 sessions
