Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. patients with suspected microbial keratitis 2. patients who visit and are admitted in Maharaj Nakorn Chiangmai hospital 3. patients who were 20 years or older at visit

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. the patients with clinical diagnosis of non-microbial keratitis, epithelial dendritic, exposure keratitis, immune-mediated peripheral ulcerative keratitis, immune stromal keratitis, disciform keratitis. 2. the patient with stromal keratitis without epithelial defect. 3. the patient with endothelitis. 4. the patient who had treatment with topical steroid within 2 weeks. 5. the patient who was given more than 4 drops per day of the topical eye drop with benzalkonium chloride (BAK) which is eye drop preservative and chemical broad-spectrum antimicrobial properties. 6. the patient has other threatening co-morbidity of eye condition such as endophthalmitis, orbital cellulitis.
