Conditions

The incidence of hip fractures is increasing due to the rising number of elderly individuals each year. Most cases are caused by falls or hip impact injuries combined with osteoporosis. There is a 20-30% chance of mortality within one year, with 40% of deaths due to underlying conditions and more than 80% from complications arising from the inability to perform daily activities.
