Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age > 18 years Diagnosed ARDS as Berlin Definition Intubated or tracheostomy Inform consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Severe obstructive defect of COPD or recent AE within 8 wk Pregnancy Mild ARDS (PaO2/FiO2 > 200) On intercostal chest drainage Contraindications from oesophageal balloon insertion Cannot perform recruitment manuver

MeasureTime frame
The correlation between recruited volume (Vrec) and RI ratio by both single-breath method and EIT. The correlation of LUS and Vrec. After performing R/I ratio, and recruitment maneuver Perform the R/I ratio using the ventilator technique and record parameters/data from EIT. To calculate the correlation, statistically analyze the values from EIT and from the ventilator.
