Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Dengue patient group 1.1 Participants diagnosed with dengue infection (by dengue antigen NS1 or PCR) with or without warning signs, or severe dengue, and in-hospitalization. 1.2 Able to provide written informed consent. 2. Healthy volunteer group 2.1 No previously diagnosed dengue fever (by taking history) within five years. 2.2 Able to provide written informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Presence of severe comorbidities (e.g. severe pneumonia, co-infection of either local or systemic infections, active cardiovascular or cerebrovascular, active malignancy) at time of admission. 2. Recent use of antibiotic or prebiotic and/or probiotics 3. History of gastrointestinal surgery 4. Pregnancy 5. Non-Thai language speaking participants
