Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Walailak University student, aged 18 - 24 years 2. Individuals with chronic neck pain (lasting 3 months or more) on the dominant side 3. Having myofascial pain syndrome in upper trapezius muscle on the dominant side 4. Having pain scale of 3 points or higher

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Previously diagnosed with neck pain and radiating symptoms such as cervical spondylolisthesis, cervical spondylosis, cervical stenosis, or cervical herniated nucleus pulposus. 2. Previously diagnosed with other spinal-related conditions such as fractures, tumors, or rheumatic fever. 3. Have undergone surgery in the neck or shoulder area. 4. Taking analgesics or anti-inflammatory drugs. 5. Previously diagnosed with mental disorders or conditions affecting sensory perception, thoughts, or emotions. 6. Previously diagnosed with cancer, psoriasis, scleroderma, or viral and bacterial infections. 7. Having contraindications for extracorporeal shock wave therapy, such as pregnancy, having a cardiac pacemaker, heart and vascular diseases, or bleeding disorders due to coagulation issues.
