Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: children between the ages of 6 and 12 who were having their first surgery, restricted to outpatient procedures and a single intervention, and who could speak Arabic.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Genetic or congenital abnormalities, chronic sickness, and prior surgical history were among the exclusion criteria.
