Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients undergoing posterolateral thoracotomy
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Previous thoracotomy 2.Chronic pain syndrome (any type of pain) 3.Opioid or steroid use within 6 months before surgery. 4.Chest trauma with rib fractures 5.Radiologic evidence of parietal pleural or chest wall tumour invasion 6.Previous neoadjuvant chemotherapy or radiation therapy. 7.Contraindication to epidural analgesia 8.Allergy to study drugs (bupivacaine and fentanyl) 9.Fibromyalgia 10.Osteoarthritis 11.Rheumatic arthritis 12.Failure to obtain consent
