40 Years to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. First subcortical stroke within 1-3 months as reported by the CT/ MRI 2. Age between 40-80 years 3. Right-handed based on the Edinburgh Handedness Inventory 4. Being able to understand and follow simple commands based on performance on the mini-mental state examination(MMSE) (cutoff>23) 5. Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA) upper extremity level at moderate (29-42 scores) 6. Normal visual field and hearing 7. Independent sitting for at least 1 hour

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. No contraindications of using rTMS (seizure, an intracranial metallic implant, MRI-incompatible pacemakers) 2. Other neurological problems (Parkinson's disease) 3. Severe sensory impairment (score = 0 by the FMA-UE of sensation and proprioception) 4. Severe joint pain on at least 3 of 5 UE joints (FMA-UE pain score=0) 5. Severe limited joint movement (FMA-UE passive joint motion of shoulder and elbow score=0) 6. Aphasia 7. Visual neglect ( screening by NIHSS-neglect score more than 1) 8. Ideomotor apraxia ( imitation meaningless of gesture; error score > 3)
