Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult (18-70 years old) diagnosed with either acid-fast bacilli (AFB) smear-positive or AFB smear-negative pulmonary tuberculosis.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Symptoms suggestive of any form of extrapulmonary tuberculosis Previous treatment or evidence of PTB Underlying compromising conditions such as recent trauma, HIV/AIDS, active malignancy, autoimmune diseases and long-term immunosuppressant use.
