Conditions

Patients undergoing orthognathic surgery using BSSO technique CoenzymeQ10 Neurosensory disturbances Peripheral nerve injuries Oxidative stress Neuroinflammation

Interventions

CoQ10 oral supplement 300 mg/day will be prescribed to participants for 2 weeks prior to the surgery.,Placebo tablets will be provided by Pharmacy Unit, Dental hospital, Faculty of Dentistry, Chiang M

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Non-growing patients (below 45 years old) 2.Healthy status (American Society of Anesthesiologist (ASA) Class I ) 3.Undergoing orthognathic surgery using BSSO technique

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.History of allergy to medications used in this study 2.History of maxillofacial trauma 3.History of neurosensory disturbance of mandible area 4.History of any neurodegenerative diseases 5.Currently receiving any kind of herbs and supplements 6.Being unable to attend follow-up appointments
