Patients were confirmed by Hb typing or PCR for alpha thalassemia.,Patients were confirmed by serum ferritin less than 30 ng/ml and TSAT less than 16% .

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age more than 18 years 2.Microcytic anemia: Hb < 13 g/dl in male or Hb < 12 g/dl in female with MCV < 80 fL 3. Iron study and Hb typing were checked

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient was received Erythropoiesis stimulating agents 2. Patient was received iron supplement (oral or intravenous form)
