The first step involved testing the validity of the questionnaire instrument to be used. Then the media of education used booklet that will carry out a feasibility test based on PEMAT. Research respo
s awareness and knowledge levels were assessed after the intervention. The final assessment also uses the same questionnaire as the initial data collection before the intervention.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: DM patients undergoing outpatient treatment at the Unhas Hospital internal clinic who did not receive a referral to undergo an eye examination. Patients who have been diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus who receive a referral to have an eye examination at the eye outpatient clinic at Unhas Hospital Patients who are willing to become respondents to be given health education interventions and provide written consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Diabetes Mellitus patients who had been diagnosed with Diabetic Retinopathy before this research began. Patients who are not willing to be respondents Diabetes Mellitus patients who suffer from mental health disorders
