Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients who were diagnosed with sepsis and septic shock, as indicated by an ICD-10 code 2. Adult patients (at least 18 years old) 3. Admitted between between 1st March 2018 to 31st January 2022 4. Met the criteria for sepsis or septic shock diagnosis according to the Surviving Sepsis Campaign 2016 5. Received PRC transfusion within 3 days after sepsis or septic shock diagnosis

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Clinically important bleeding (which means overt bleeding accompanied by a decrease in systolic blood pressure of more than 20 mmHg, an increase in pulse rate of more than 20 beats per minute, or a drop in hemoglobin levels of more than 2 g/dL) 2. Acute coronary syndrome 3. Overt gastrointestinal bleeding 4. Immediate post-operative patients
