Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) healthy adults aged 18-35 years; 2) anterior open bite 0-4 mm; 3) Angle Class I or mild Angle Class II; 4) Tongue thrusting as defined by tongue pushing against the anterior teeth during resting or swallowing 5) Skeletal Class I or mild Class II (ANB = 0-5 degrees); 6) Normo to hyperdivergent facial pattern (MPA = 23-39 degrees)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria were: 1) neuromuscular deficiencies; 2) chronic airway obstruction, such as adenoiditis and tonsillitis; and 3) Loss of upper and lower anterior teeth
