Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age more than 18 years old 2. All patients who have undergone hysterectomy, including both open abdominal and laparoscopic procedures.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. History of allergy to milk of magnesia or any other ingredients listed on the medication label. 2. Presence of any underlying medical conditions that contraindicate the use of milk of magnesia. 3. Presence of fever or evidence of infection prior to surgery. 4. Diagnosis of intestinal obstruction, GERD, evidence of gastric ulcers from endoscopic examination, or chronic constipation. 5. History of radiation therapy at pelvic or abdominal region. 6. Pregnant and requiring hysterectomy, such as for cervical cancer or post cesarean hysterectomy, due to the presence of delayed gastric emptying time during pregnancy. 7. Injury to adjacent organs during hysterectomy, requiring the patient to abstain from food and water. 8. Severe complications from a surgical procedure that require treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). 9. Unable to read or speak Thai language. 10. Impaired or incomplete consciousness or having a neurological or psychiatric disorder.
