Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patient with CTS, which the symptoms and disability persisted, not responding to at least 6 weeks duration of conservative treatment. 2. Patient with CTS, which physical examination shown atrophy or weakness of the thenar muscle of the affected hand
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Recurrent CTS after prior open carpal tunnel release surgery 2. History of fracture or dislocation around wrist joint of the affected hand Within 6 weeks after conservative treatment of CTS with steroid injection 3. Pregnant patient 4. Rheumatoid disease patient with evidence of rheumatoid arthritis at the wrist 5. Evidence of disease/syndrome which could cause a double-crush mechanism of the median nerve (ex. Thoracic outlet syndrome, Cervical radiculopathy) 6. Communication difficulties (ex. Cognitive impairment) 7. Not willing to be enrolled in this research 8. Unable to follow up at Police General Hospital
