proximal phalanx fracture proximal phalanx fracture, comminuted phalangeal fracture, adjacent interdigital pinning, dynamic external fixation, k-wire proximal phalanx

Interventions

Close reduction with traction force. Then, use K-wire size 1.2 mm, pinning from injured finger to adjacent finger at distal part. Also add one K-wire at the base and one more just distal to the fract

18 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Isolated proximal phalangeal base fracture Injury less than 7 days

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: open fracture, Gustilo II and III Neurovascular injury Adjacent finger injury Ipsilateral limb fracture Severe articular comminution (more than 3 fragments) Injury more than 7 days (unable to close reduction) Pre-injury finger stiffness Uncontrolled diabetic mellitus Multiple trauma/ head injury thats interfere rehabilitation
