Dysphagia Parkinson&#039

Interventions

Parkinson cup is a novel device made especially to reduce dysphagia and aspiration in patients with Parkinson&#039
s disease. In this device, there is a part of it, which has a principle of work resembling a dam slowing the flow rate of water from the cup into the mouth of patient. Furthermore, there is a ramp ins
s disease. Patient will use the parkinson cup to drink water via the mouth in our study to test whether it can reduce aspiration or not.

18 Years to 90 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Parkinson's disease according to UKPDSBB criteria 2. History of dysphagia at least 1 time in the past week (MDS-UPDRS 2.3 >=3)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Unstable vital signs 2. Neurological disorders ex. stroke, traumatic brain injury or neuromuscular disease 3. Abnormalities of oral cavity 4. Severe dysphagia ex. respiratory involvement when dysphagia 5. Underlying diseases as uncontrolled respiratory/cardiovascular diseases or other uncontrolled diseases 6. Severe Parkinson's disease (Hoehn and Yahr Stage V/MDS-UPDRS Part III >= 50)
