HIV/AIDS mobile health, HIV/AIDS, treatment adherence, self-efficacy, behavior, quality of life

Interventions

Patients in the intervention group receive a theory-driven mobile health intervention through a smartphone application developed to facilitate medication adherence and self-management in HIV patients.
(2) Behavior monitoring (including tobacco smoking, alcohol drinking
and illegal substance use)

(4) Guidelines, Information and News
(5) Contact to HIV clinic
(6) Personal medical record. The characteristics and role of each functionality were described below: Pill reminder: Pill reminder functionality helps to provide simple daily reminders to the individ
and illegal substance use): The behavior monitoring functionality allows individuals to self-report their behaviors daily. By doing so, medical staff could also monitor the health behaviors of users.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Aged 18 years old and above; (2) undergoing ART medications at the selected outpatient clinics during the study period; (3) owned a smartphone (either one that used Apple or Android operating system) with access to the Internet, and (4) agreeing to participate and being capable of providing informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Using any HIV-assisted smartphone application at the time of the study; Having cognitive impairment or any disability that hinders using applications
