Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age greater than or equal to 65-years-old Schedule for elective major abdominal and thoracic surgery Plan to insert a thoracic epidural catheter for perioperative pain control

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Refuse to participate in the study Having contraindication of neuraxial anesthesia Having thoracic spine deformity Having previously thoracic spine surgery Allergy to local anesthetic drug Having severe medical conditions Have been a participant in another research
