Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with cirrhosis diagnosed by radiological findings 2. Age 18-80 years
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Consumption of antibiotics, psychotropic drugs, or any antibiotics in the preceding two weeks 2. History of any bacterial infections during the past two weeks 3. Presence of active neurological or psychiatric diseases 4. Previous transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) or shunt surgery 5. Alcohol misuse in the previous three months
