Interventions

Patients with skeleton class III deformities who will received orthognatic surgery.

18 Years to 35 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patient age ranged from 18 to 35 years old. 2. Patients with skeleton class III deformities. 3. Patients who receive orthogenic treatment before and after surgical correction. 4. Patients who will prospectively undergo setback BSSRO with and/or without maxillary surgical correction.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who will receive other surgical techniques to eliminate condylar torque such as posterior bending technique 2. Patients with medical conditions that affect bone healing process such as diabetic mellitus, or currently on bisphosphonate or steroid therapy 3. Patients who are currently smoking 4. Patients with history of condyle fracture and/or trauma 5. Patients who have a history of TMDs diagnosis or treatment before being included in the study 6. Patients who have complications of BSSRO such as condylar displacement, immediate postoperative occlusal instability, unfavorable bony split, infection, loosening miniplates and screws, present of foreign bodies, sequestrum formation, mal-/non-union bone segment will be subsequently excluded from the study 7. Patients who have any contraindication for MRI examination such as i. Claustrophobia ii. Patients with metal implants or metal devices such as metal joint implant, metal plate with ferromagnetic substances, metal cardiac valve, pacemaker, blood vessel clip, metal stent, cochlear implant iii. Patients with metallic foreign body iv. Pregnancy patients
