Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: aged 18 to 60 years old with the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status 1-2 and Mallampati score 1-2 who were undergoing elective non-cardiac surgery under general anesthesia with an endotracheal tube
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with an expected difficult airway, those who required more than two attempts at intubation, and those with a pre-operative sore throat, a history of allergy to budesonide, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
