Conditions

Healthy participant Best correct visual acuity 20/20 in near and distant reading acuity, maximum reading speed, critical print size, reading performance

Interventions

- Healthy volunteer - Age 8-14 years old - Studying grade 2 - 8 (20 persons per grade) - Best corrected visual acuity
BCVA 0.00 logMAR - Astigmatism less than 1.00 Diopter - No intraocular pathology and strabismus - No reading problem - Normal extraocular muscle movement - Inform consent,- Healthy volunteer - Age 1
40 persons - Best corrected visual acuity
BCVA 0.00 logMAR - Astigmatism less than 1.00 Diopter - No intraocular pathology and strabismus - No reading problem - Normal extraocular muscle movement - Inform consent,- Healthy volunteer - Age 6
20 persons - Best corrected visual acuity

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Critical print size;CPS 4 weeks after end of the examination Measure reading time(sec) in each sentence (from logMAR 1.3 t0 -0.2) then convert to reading speed (words/minute) and plot graph for CPS (logMAR);smallest print size yielded 90% of MRS(words/minute),Maximum reading speed; MRS 4 weeks after end of the examination Maximum reading speed (words per minute, wpm) was estimated as plateau of fitted curve (MNREAD graph previously plot),Reading acuity (RA) 4 weeks after end of the examination Reading acuity(logMAR) was calculated by adding 0.01 logMAR to the smallest tested print size for each error made in the test

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Effect of age sex and education to reading performance 4 weeks after end of the examination Plot MNREAD curve using information in each age group(RA MRS CPS) and univariate-multivariate regression model
