Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Adult patients (aged > 18 years) undergoing elective open colectomy and/or proctectomy for benign colorectal diseases and non-metastatic colorectal adenocarcinoma (AJCC stage I-III) between January 2018 and December 2020 at the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Thailand.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients having an operation for recurrent tumor Patients having acute colonic obstruction or perforation Patients with American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status of IV or more Current opioid users Patients being unable to understand the concept of intravenous patient-controlled analgesia
