Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged 18-70 years who were scheduled for colonoscopy and had no contraindications for sodium phosphate were eligible to participate.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) contraindications against sodium phosphate and high-risk groups, such as those with hypertension receiving diuretics and angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and chronic renal failure or renal insufficiency; (2) history of colorectal surgery; (3) pregnancy; (4) inflammatory bowel disease; and (5) unable to give informed consent.
