Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Sepsis or septic shock according to sepsis-3 criteria 2. Had an arterial line in place
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Received either nitric oxide donor drugs (e.g., isosorbide dinitrate, nitroglycerin) 2. Received drugs known to induce methemoglobinemia (e.g., sulfonamide, chloroquine) before the enrolment 3. Had do-not-resuscitate orders in the medical record
