Conditions

Plantar heel pain (PHP) or plantar fasciitis is an umbrella term for pain on the plantar aspect of the heel which is associated with the Myofascial trigger point (MTrPs) in calf muscles. Plantar heel pain, plantar fasciitis, and Myofascial trigger point

Interventions

The participants receive treatment of Traditional Thai massage about 40 minutes/time at the calf muscle and feet for 1 session. There is a Traditional Thai massage of this study as the following steps

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) tenderness point on the plantar aspect of the heel at medial calcaneal tuberosity 2) history of the pain was worse in the morning when taking the first few steps after waking up, after long time sitting or at the beginning of a workout 3) tightness or limited ankle dorsiflexion range of motion (evaluated by passive stretching) 4) active or latent myofascial trigger point in calf muscle (Gastrocnemius or soleus muscle by palpation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) red flag to manual therapy such as tumor, fracture, Rheumatoid arthritis, severe vascular disease, 2) evidence of neurologic deficit, bilateral plantar heel pain, prior surgery in the lower extremity, diagnosis of fibromyalgia syndrome, 1 month previous the therapy or massage therapy interventions for the foot region and Thrombophlebitis.
