18 Years to 40 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: age 18-40 years, singleton pregnancy with GDM diagnosed according to Carpenter-Coustan criteria and seen for the first dietary visit between 12 and 32 weeks of gestation and willing to comply the protocol requirements

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: pregestational diabetes, consumption of non-polished rice daily, any medications affecting glucose metabolism (insulin, corticosteroids, diuretics, beta-blockers) or inability to follow the prescribed diet
