Conditions

All the participants in this study were aged between 40 and 65 and suffered from orthostatic hypotension. Yahom navakot orthostatic hypotension head-up tilt test

Interventions

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Participants had to be aged between 40 to 65. Their SBP had to decrease by at least 20 mmHg and/or DBP by at least 10 mmHg within 3 min of changing position from supine to upright. The diagnosis of OH was determined following 5 min of rest in the supine position, then the patients stood upright and their BP measurements were repeated on the same arm twice, at 1 and 3 minutes using an automated oscillometric sphygmomanometer with an appropriately sized cuff.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participants were excluded if they were pregnant or breastfeeding, current use of either hypotension or hypertension medication, and/or an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients in YN. Patients with diseases that create contraindications using a tilt bed include severe anemia, kidney or heart failure, severe mitral valve or aortic valve stenosis, tachycardia, severe proximal cerebral artery stenosis and/or coronary artery disease, prior stroke or myocardial infarction in the past 7 days, or lower extremity fractures were also excluded .

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Prevalence of orthostatic hypotension in the upright position during 70 degree angle of HUT With in 1,2,3 and 5 minute after conducting 70 degree angle of HUT SBP, DBP, MAP, PP and HR were determined in both a supine position, and a 70 degree angle of HUT before and after oral administration of Yahom Navakot

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Adverse events not found at the end of the treatment. 30 minutes, 24 and 48 hours after drug administration. Adverse events and vital signs
