Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: included patients who were admitted at least 1 day before the surgery for elective surgery under general anesthesia, aged over 18 years old and American Society of Anesthesia (ASA) physical status I-III

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: patient had been undergone general anesthesia in the previous 6 months, had cognitive and speech impairment (such as intellectual disability, dementia, disorientation to time, place, person, psychiatric disorders, or laryngectomy), had audiovisual impairment, had language barrier (unable to understand Thai or Isan language), or had illiteracy
