Knee flexion angle (KFA) is one of the most critical factors for evaluating patients functional outcomes after total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Pre-operative knee flexion angle and intraoperative drop leg test are accepted as predictors of post-operative KFA after TKA. A pre-operative test performed after anaesthetic procedures helps overcome the limitation caused by pain. Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged over 55 years with the diagnosis of the primary osteoarthritic knee who were scheduled for unilateral primary TKA

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) a previous knee surgery 2) patients undergone complicated procedures requiring metal augmentation, stem or constrained prosthesis 3) patients undergone intraoperative patellar resurfacing 4) intra-operative or post-operative complication requiring immobilization or 3 reoperation of the knee 5) stiff knee requiring manipulation under anaesthesia 6) loss to follow-up before six months after surgery.
