Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. frozen shoulder 2. restriction of passive and active motion of greater than 30 degree in two or more planes of movement

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, myositis or myopathy 2. patients with cancer 3. coagulopathy 4. secondary frozen shoulder 5. history of trauma to shoulder joint 6. rotator cuff lesion on ultrasonographic examinations 7. previous corticosteroid injection at the affected shoulder 8. allergy to local anesthetic, corticosteroid or normal saline solution
