Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: age 35 years old and no periodontal therapy 3months prior the study. also no antibiotics given.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: clinical and diagnostic criteria of moderate chronic periodontitis (5). Other criteria were also adopted including age range from 35-45years; probing depth 3-4mm in at least three teeth, attachment loss of ≥ 3 mm and a minimum of 20 teeth. Patients who received periodontal treatments or were given antibiotic drugs within the last 3 months prior to the study were excluded. Other exclusion criteria were involved including previous systemic diseases, pregnancy, breast-feeding and smoking habits.
