Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients undergoing elective VATS 2. aged over 18 years 3. ASA physical status I to III.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. unwillingness and/or inability to provide written informed consent to participate in the study, 2. pregnancy 3. contraindication to spinal block, 4. history of allergy to opioid 5. Receiving opioid therapy for chronic pain 6. History of severe postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV), 7. History of previous surgical intervention at spinal T12-L5 level or significant spinal deformity, 8. Learning difficulty or communication problems, and 9. Retaining endotracheal tube after the operation.
