Interventions

ECC was diagnosed based on the AAPD 2018&#45
2019 definition which stated that in children younger than 3 years of age&#44
any sign of smooth&#45
surface caries is indicative of S&#45
ECC. From ages 3 through 5&#44
1 or more cavitated&#44
missing (due to caries)&#44
or filled smooth surfaces in primary maxillary anterior teeth or a decayed&#44
missing&#44
or filled score of ≥4 (age 3)&#44
≥5 (age 4)&#44
or ≥6 (age 5) surfaces also constitutes S&#45
ECC.,Subjects had no caries nor existing restorations

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Thai children from four primary schools in Prachuap khiri khan aged between 2 to 5 years old who had S-ECC and caries-free.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Any systemic disease(s) 2. Taking any kind of antibiotic within 3 months prior to the sample collection period 3. Professional fluoride application within 2 months prior to the sample collection period 4. Intend to withdraw from the study
