Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Type 2 Diabetes for at least 2 years since diagnosis with a glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) level of 7.5%–10%
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients who had chronic inflammatory disease, chronic steroid use, serum creatinine level >2 mg/dL or eGFR <60 ml/min/1.73 m2/day, aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels more than three times the upper normal limit
