Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged above 18 years who underwent kidney transplantation more than 3 months prior with functioning renal allograft at the time of randomization.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who had previous rabies vaccination, intravenous immunoglobulin within 3 months, acute febrile illness within 1 week, detectable cytomegalovirus (CMV) viremia, CMV disease or contraindications for ID or IM injections were excluded
