Interventions

In intervention group&#44
patients will receive ferrous sulphate 2 tab od (400 mg) on alternate day for 3 months,In control group&#44
patients will receive ferrous sulphate 1 tab (200 mg) bid everyday for 3 months
Experimental Drug,Active Comparator Drug
Ferrous sulphate 400 mg alternate days ,Ferrous sulphate 200 mg twice daily

Sex/Gender
Female
Age
18 Years to 50 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Women &#44; age 18&#45;50 yrs 2. Dx of Iron deficiency anemia in KCMH by Hb 2 g/dl (if baseline Hb was known) with serum ferritin < 30 mcg/L 3. No Hx of blood transfusion or donation in 3 months PTA

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Concomitant major chronic diseases or inflammatory diseases Ex. Chronic kidney disease&#44; Chronic heart disease&#44; malignancy or poor controlled DM&#44; morbid obesity&#44; active infection 2. Pregnancy or Lactation 3. Gastrectomy

Improvement in hemoglobin at day 30 of treatment The proportion of patients with increased Hb levels > 2 g/dl
