18 Years to 90 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >/= 18 years 2. Mechanically ventilated patients with pressure support ventilation: PS </= 16 cmH2O, PEEP </= 10 cmH2O and FiO2 </= 0.6 3. Receiving mechanical ventilation for at least 24 hours

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Unstabel hemodynamics 2. Moderate to severe respiratory distress 3. Severe acid-base disturbance 4. Tracheostomy 5. Contraindication for esophageal balloon catheter insertion 6. Pregnancy 7. Refuse to participate
