Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age between 18 to 80 years old Schedule for elective major abdominal and thoracic surgery Plan to place epidural catheter insertion for perioperative and postoperative pain control

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Refuse to participate in the study ASA physical status > III Having contraindication for neuraxial block Having thoracic spine deformity Having a history of thoracic spine surgery Pregnancy Morbid obesity (BMI more than 35 kg/m2) Allergy to local anesthetic drug
