Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients diagnosed with PV, the diagnosis of PV is based on the clinical features and confirmed by histopathologic and immunofluorescence analysis. Control patients were matched for age and gender and had a negative history for PV.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: PV patients with no oral cavity involvement and patients who had non-speciï¬c histopathology and/or DIF. For all study patients who required antibiotic prophylaxis, patients who received periodontal treatment prior to 6 months, women who were pregnant, patients using antibiotics
